Pet surgery works wonders!
Although I miss the floppy ears, flippity-floppity walk, his big wet black nose, maybe the whole operation was worth it.
Except that now he never, never, never barks.
(And he believes he's better than I am!)

Today's photo was frustrating. I took some photos in my little surgeon/doctor costume and changed back into a normal tee. Turns out I made a big boo boo by taking some photos in landscape and others in portrait.
I had to get into costume again and retake photos! Baaaaah..
In this photo, I'm wearing The Rebirth Of Venus by Kneil Melicano. It's an awesome tee. Thanks to Whitney for sending me a shirt for modeling her winning design! :D
Oh yeah! This photo made the product page on Threadless.com. Woot!

This is my face RELAXED. The jaw was permanently tethered by gross mishandling of the soft tissue. I cannot breathe, swallow or keep my head in a normal position.. The platysma muscle was surgically SHORTENED. Botox would NOT improve this, and would be dangerous in this situation.

pre-op shows normal position of jaw, and normal relationship of anatomical landmarks.
post op- jaw forced closed for the seconds required to take this photo, after approx. 15 seconds, the jaw pulls open with force IMPOSSIBLE to overcome. I cannot breathe, tongue pulls down and jaw open. Support to the floor of the mouth is gone.. inappropriate plication of the platysma muscle with no release has weakened the supporting musculature which holds the internal structures of the neck in place.
luciacovelli posted a photo:
Left: Maximum tongue protrusion with head in normal position. I cannot breathe or swallow.
Right: With extreme pressure applied to manipulate the layer of tissue BENEATH the skin, which is "detached" from the deeper layer, (a "glide plane") I am able to restore support to the floor of the mouth and inner structures of the neck, thus overcoming the extreme caudal tension which has gradually torn and destroyed this support from 7 years of tension opposing normal anatomical function.
Dr. Eppley's heinous negligence and mishandling of my surgery is responsible for crippling disability and destruction of my health. This is INEXCUSABLE NEGLIGENCE.
